Learning through Science:

Explore how the GYA Mountain Ungulate Project is expanding our knowledge of the ecology of bighorn sheep and mountain goats in the greater Yellowstone:

The Greater Yellowstone Area Mountain Ungulate Project is a collaborative research initiative to study the ecology and population dynamics of bighornsheep and mountain goats throughout the Yellowstone ecosystem.

Our mission is to collect critical information on these two regional mountain ungulates for the applied conservation and management by wildlife and natural resource agencies.

Additionally, this project is synergistic with the Montana State-wide Bighorn Initiative that will provide comparative information of bighorn sheep ecology with insight gained from herds in other regions of Montana.
